Victory to you Mother Karnataka, the daughter of Mother India! Hail the land of beautiful rivers and forests, hail the abode of saints! You are a new jewel in the crown of Goddess Earth, mine of beautiful gold and sandal. Victory to you Mother Karnataka the daughter of Mother India where Rama and Krishna had their incarnations. Resonance of the Vedas is your Mother’s lullaby for you, and your fervor is Her life. Lines of green mountains are your necklaces. Victory to you Mother Karnataka, the daughter of Mother India who is hailed by Kapila, Patanjali, Gautama and Jina. You are a sacred forest where Shankara, Ramanuja, Vidyaranya and Basaveswara dwelt. You are the holy abode where Ranna, Shadakshari, Ponna, Pampa, Lakshmisha and Janna were born. You are the blessed resting place of many a poet-nightingales. Victory to Mother Karnataka, the daughter of Mother India who gave birth to Nanak, Ramanand and Kabir. This is the land ruled (in the past) by Tailapa and Hoysalas, and affectionate hometown for Dankana and Jakkana. This land is the blessed stage for Krishna, Sharavathi, Tunga and Kaveri. Victory to you Mother Karnataka, the daughter of Mother India of Chaitanya, Paramahamsa and Vivekananda. Garden of peace for all communities, a sight that allures the connoisseurs, the garden where the Hindus, Christians, Muslims, Parsis and the Jains (grow); the palace of many kings that are like Janaka; the place for singers and musicians; the body of the children of Mother Kannada -- the house where Kannada Tongue plays in joy. Victory to you Mother Karnataka, the daughter of Mother India. Hail the land of beautiful rivers and forests, hail the abode of rasarishis!

Guru Bhai.....Contemplating Right or Wrong....
Today i watched Guru. I really liked the movie, brilliant acting by Abhishek Bachchan and rest of them also had done good job. But, here i`m not going to talk whether the story was influenced by any real life personality or not.Instead i have a different point to make.
I had heard a lot about this movie and went with some pre-conceptions about the movie. I started liking the movie right from the beginning. I began to appreciate Guru`s( the lead character in the MOvie is Guru) characters and the kind of confidence he had to accomplish any task.
But slowly as the movie progressed, i started to think that what he was doing was indeed correct or not. But somehow i did`nt want to miss the movie so, stopped contemplating about it.
When the movie was over and we were getting back home, my mind was just pondering about Guru and the path he took to build the huge empire called Shakthi Group of Companies.I came home and had long discussion about this with my roommate.
My point was ...Guru just for his gains he exploited the system, increased corruption to nth level , did not follow the policies layed by Government( or i would say poilcies were made which were beneficial to him). He used all possible ways to increase his profit and grow his company to a level which nobody would have imagined .
Though i totally agree that, in the overall prosperity/growth of the middle class families Guru/Shakthi Company had a major share. He had a BIG dream and made sure to realise it in his lifetime by any means. He also showed the path for yougsters to dream BIG. With all said and done i started arguing about this with my roommate.
I was stressing on the point that he should not have taken the other path to gain profit. Guru`s footprints had spread so wide that the after effects were very disturbing like...corruption, scandals, illegal activities. etc...
But my roommate started his arugment giving the reference to time during which he lived. At that point of time the system was very rigid and the government was not ready for liberisation. With no healthy competition in the market it was very difficult for anybody to grow beyond a point. There were only 2 ways to work--one try to dare to do something different , fail miserably and vanish away from the scene or lead a mediocre life , and the second use your own ways, concentrate on you and your family`s( definiition changes for a company) profit. As the system was not stable Guru just used the system to grow his company. By doing this he created a kind of pressure within the system due to which there was a bubble burst and government agreed on liberalisation and the rest is history.
Having said all these, i am still not convinced that if the system is not ready to adopt to the situation , using your own ways to gain margin is not the best way to do. Talking about the irregularities ,policies and the system itself, is just the justification you give to what has happened.
Though after this long discussion i had run out of points to argue with him, i was still thinking was there no other ways during that time for Guru to grow like this.......and i`m yet to find an explaination for that...........................................

Shiva Ratri in London
I got up in the morning and gave a call to India only to know that they were celebrating Shiva Ratri. On this day , every year pretty much the day goes like this. Morning perform pooja to Lord Shiva and then wait for some delicious and special dishes to be served by mom. Then in the evening go to Shiva temple . We would have to stand in the queue for atleast 2-3 hours if you are going before 12:00 AM. People stay awake the enitre night chanting the verses on Lord Shiva. In the temple people keep chanting the hymes on Lord Shiva and priests performing the pooja entire night.
Okie lets come back to London now.......
So keeping this in mind went to office. Here in London we are 6 of us who have travelled from India. So we all decided to go to some temple in the eveining. There is a Indian Lady in our team who is kind of settled here. She gave us some pointers as to where to go and how to reach there.
So after a lot of discussion we decided to go to SouthHal. This place is supposed to be dominated by mostly asians. I had already got an idea about this place from what i had heard from a lot people, but was just eagerly waiting to witness by myself.
It took about 2 hours for us to reach that place. After asking couple of people for the way, we reached Lord Shiva Temple. I`ll talk about the place and the experience lil later. I felt so happy just by the glimpse of the temple.
Standing in the long queue reminded me of temple near my house in India (Bangalore). It was a similar kind of experience here as well. There were atleast 150 people in the temple. After standig in the queue for about 45 mins we had a very good darshana of Lord Shiva and also had an oppurtunity to perform abhisheka on the idol of Shiva. This was a wonderful experience.
Then we all went to Chandni Chowk (restraunt) and had a delicious food. The food was simply amazing and i felt that it tasted better than a lot of hotels in bangalore.
At the end of the day i had the satisfactiom of celebrating Shiva Ratri even in the foreign land and this would remain in my memory for ever..

Ambegaalu........
Hmm......must be surprised to see me writing something like this huh....??? I had a habit of writing long e-mails describing my experiences after travel. But never thought that i would be starting my own Blog.....and here it is i have started with an ambegaalu( the first step or it may be called as the child learing to walk by crawling)....oooh that was a long description for a short word......
Last month i came to London for a new project. Hopefully i would be having some interesting experiences which i would be sharing here.
In the last 3 weeks due to some constraints , i did not get enough time to go around London. As and when i do i`ll keep that posted.
Until then......keep waiting.
