Holi in London

"22 March 2008" would be one of the most memorable days in my life. It was after a long long time i was celebrating Holi, and to add to that it was thousands of kilometers from India here in London. Dipendu came back from his vacation last week and had got some gulaal (powdered color). So we all decided to celebrate holi in London . Finally it was decided that it'll be in Davender's place. Dipendu, me, Akshay and Tarun left for DU's place,it was a long journey place from Canary Wharf but was worth it.Dipendu brought the colors, Rasgullas and some namkeen as well. I hardly can remember when was the last time i played holi, it should be atleast 6-7 years ago. I was looking forward to it. After reaching DU's place we started off immediately, splashed the colors on all of them. Thier balcony was very nice, looked like it was made for this occasion. We thouroughly enjoyed the time splashing colors, dancing on Bachchan's Holi song from Sholay and ofcourse the local Bhang( beer :) )
Somehow the festival celbration in London is turning out to be very exciting and memorable. I'm lovin it.

F1 2008

Its been a long time since my last post. For a lot of reasons i did not get time to write. There were a lot of occasions when it was apt to write, but due to my laziness and busy schedule couldnt do it. Anyways, let me try once again to be regular from now on....
From past 1 year the one sport which i have started following regularly is F1. I used to follow this even before, but was'nt fanatic about it. But after coming to london and meeting Ajit and Amit, this has become a regular sport like cricket now.
F1 2008 started with a bang!!....No traction control, Alonso , Raikonnen not the top 3 in qualifiers, Force India making a grand entry into the World of fast cars.....
The Opening race in Oz was mixed bag.......Within the first lap there was mishaps, brilliant overtaking by Raikonnen..Without Traction control , the drivers were all over the place. It looked like playing a simulator game. Cars going out of the track, cars flying on top of the other ...everything happened in during first half of the race.
But the highlights of the match were...
  • Hamilton was spot on. Absolutely no error by the young driver. He was only driver who looked in full control.
  • Raikonnen starting the race at 16th place and reaching 8th within the first 30 seconds.
  • Kovalainen overtaking alonso during the last lap
  • And giving back the place to Alonso within couple of seconds.
  • Alonso racing away beyond the speed limit in the pit lane and getting slapped 60 seconds of his racing time

Now i am waiting for the second race this weekend in Malaysia... Lets see how that turns out to be............Till then sayonara....
